Development and opportunities for the youth of Suriname

OUR MiSSiON

The Youth Empowerment Suriname (YES) foundation aims to make an effective contribution to developing a positive self-image among young people in Suriname. In doing so, it seeks to increase their chances of success in education and improve their opportunities in society.

To pursue this goal YES offers intensive trainings, workshops, and coaching programs for the youth of Suriname.

OUR TRAiNiNG PROGRAMS

An overview of the different training programs we offer

Empowerment training in schools

Every year, YES provides Empowerment training at public schools in Suriname, particularly within Junior Secondary Education (MULO). The social-emotional development of young people is the main focus of these training sessions.

Residential Empowerment training

Since 2015, we have carried out the residential Empowerment training each year, where the YES team and the young people stay overnight on location. This allows us to better support young people facing more complex challenges.

For final-year MULO students, YES offers motivation days. During these days, young people are powerfully motivated and encouraged to bring out the best in themselves.
